Description : A rather fine piece of travel ephemera titled as follows:-Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire. Rail Tour of the Union of South Africa, September – October 1948.14cm x 22.5cm portrait format booklet with cream card covers featuring a winged Springbok on the front and plain on the back. Bound with blue cord. The booklet was apparently in connection with 1948 Congress of the Federation and covered 4,265 miles over the South African Railways. The book extends to 48pp and is profusely illustrated with black and white photographs plus a centre spread map in four colours, black, white, red and blue depicting the route. Page 4 contains an abbreviated timetable of the tour. Condition : Very faint foxing or light staining on the title page and last page which may be from the cream card. Corner crease front cover top right, see scan.
