On offer is one scarce early type luggage label issued by the Somerset & Dorset Railway for use of passengers travelling to Pylle, situated on the S&D Highbridge branch .This type of label (designated Type S42 in the RPS Guide) pre-dates later versions which were titled as Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway and were generally thought to be have been issued for the period July 1874 – November 1875.Item measures 80 x 66mm and is in generally in a good unused condition except for some discolouration of paper stock and erosion of edges and corners (due purely to the age of the item).Item will be despatched in suitable packaging to prevent damage in transit as Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For Large Letter.I always endeavour to list items accurately but if further details are required then please do not hesitate to contact me.
