Here we have a very rare 1890-1891 book titled, “Glimpse at the Life and Times of A.V.H. Carpenter”. Book was written by Mr. Carpenter with editing from Alva J. Beatty and super illustrations by a 22-year old Will H. Bradley (extremely famous art nouveau artist). Mr. Carpenter had a long relationship with the Chicago, Milwaukee, & St. Paul Railway Company and was a huge part of it’s success. I believe this book is a true first edition as it has the dark green leather boards while the second edition of 1891 had red boards. However, the title page is dated 1890 and the back of same page is dated 1891. Binding and spline are in real nice shape with all guilting bright and intact and no splits or fraying. This book contains 144 perfect pages plus several great old railroad advertisements in the back. I would grade this book far above average and a solid 9 on a 1-10 scale. Holy grail for CM&StP collectors. Almost 130 years old and extremely hard to find. FREE S & H. Thanks for viewing………Triple K Year 1890
