1893 Rare Original Ticket….for a special train ride from NY to May’s Landing, NJ at the Jersey Shore for the purpose of showing the passenger the Industrial Land Development Company’s (house, etc.) real estate development in Atlantic County resulting in the passenger buying stock in the company. The footnote on the ticket mentions a charge of $1.00 if the passenger is going on the train ride for pleasure and how they will be refunded if the passenger buys stock. Below is the print on the ticket which measures 2.75″ by 5.5″. There is print on both sides of the ticket. Condition as shown in the photos. Ticket has age and use, rub and scuff, some light soiling and handwriting. The ticket was owned by farmer Elbert H. Bogart from Roslyn, New York (not printed on the ticket, however, his name was on other papers I acquired from the estate). I found a person by this same name in Roslyn and he was born 1811 and died 1897. Ticket is an interesting collectible for PRR, as well as May’s Landing, NJ collectors interested in the early real estate development of the area._______________ INDUSTRIAL LAND DEVELOPMENT COMPANYOffice, Times Building, 41 Park Row, NYExcursion to May’s Landing, N.J. by Special Train Leaving New YorkMonday, May 17, 1893 at 9 A.M.This ticket entitles the holder to one passenger to May’s Landing and return by Penn.
