Teaspoonin the 1901 Tiger Lilypattern which is marked: “Car 6″on the handle front. also on the back; ” Reed & Barton” Spoon measures approx. 5&3/4 inches long. Thispattern is listed on page 146of “Silver At Your Service”. This marking is not listed. Silver at Your Service lists this pattern as being used by Wabash railroad with the marking “Wabash”. Wabash railroad also had a private business car “Car 6” and I suggest this may be from that car. I don’t have any evidence other than that. I believe the lower numbers were often business or private cars, so this is definitely from one of those.
Piece is in excellentcondition showing very little wear. Monogram shows almost nowear, still pronounced and vivid. Back of bowl has a small spot of heel wear.There are some slight nicks and scratches but overall excellentcondition and rather rare. Piecewill need to be thoroughly polished when buyer receives it. Piece is being sold as-is, so take a good look at the photos.
