This booklet was issued by the LNER (London and North Eastern Railway) and is titled “Railway and Road-Way Holidays – Explore England for a Few Shillings – Yorkshire Coast”. This is booklet No. 9 in a series and is dated 1939. The booklet has 32 pages plus covers with a fold-out map attached inside the rear cover and a pocket inside the front cover which holds a 32 page timetable and fare booklet for the train and bus services in the Yorkshire Coast region for the period 1st May to 2nd July 1939. The main booklet has details of fares from London to many places in the East of the UK, details of Weekly Holiday Season Tickets for the Yorkshire Coast, information about many places to visit in and around the Yorkshire Coast region, and an accommodation list – the map inside the rear cover shows the road and rail routes of the Yorkshire Coast region. The main booklet measures 13.4cm x 20.4cm. Interesting item for a collection. Scarcer publication.The main booklet is in a very good minus condition. General edge, corner and spine end rubs, very small crease at bottom rear corner, tiny crease at bottom front corner, light rubbing and browning along spine, 1.5cm split at bottom of spine, tiny loss at spine ends, rusting to staples with small brown marks, light grubbiness down rear of spine, some light grubbiness and light brown spotting to covers, light bend and creases at bottom of front cover, light ridge along front edge of front cover, some light creases and some brown spotting to pocket inside front cover, some light marks to first page, some very small and tiny page corner creases, the odd very small and tiny mark here and there internally, the odd tiny bump to edges of covers and pages – a nice addition to a collection. The timetable booklet is in a very good condition. Small creases at top corner of first five pages.Please check scans carefully as they help with the condition too.
