A rare and thoroughly original NO SMOKING enamel plate, believed to date from the 1950’s.
Its origins are not entirely clear but it is thought to be from an underground station, as smoking had few prohibitions in the 1950’s, however it could only have been fitted where the threat of a fire in a confined space was a threat.
In original, untouched condition. Only one minor chip in the enamel, which is the bottom right hand corner. Beautiful patina, this has not been cleaned or manipulated in any way. It retains its original fixing rivets, I dare not attempt to remove as it may damage the enamel.
A must for the collector of any transport related memorabilia.
It is in excellent, original condition. Please refer to photographs.
Measurements – 5.5 inches wide by 6 inches tall
