A couple of old letters regarding complaints made to the Caledonian railway. The first is a claim for 18 for a delay caused in 1909 by a wagon label being lost.
The second is with regards to a truck (number 13791) of coal being sent to the steamer ‘Rachel’ which, despite the ship waiting all day, failed to arrive, causing the customer to be annoyed ‘this is a terrible time to take to bring a truck a couple of miles’ etc etc.
There is also a note addressed to the waggon department of William Dixons Carfin colliery charging for greasing and repairing wagons dated 1908.
