Yes, you get both of these vintage 1907 volumes of The Science of Railways for one bid price and mailed in one package. The books are over one hundred years old, so you’ll notice that the spine bindings are starting to loosen and show wear and that one of the boards (covers) is entirely loose. However all information and reading material are intact and accessible and fine. Both are 1907 editions published by New York and Chicago The World Railway Publishing Company, by Kirkman . Author Kirkman was a railway officer and employee. Remember that trains were efficient and active in this decade before World War I. Both are hardbound books measuring 7.75 x 5.5 x 2 (thick) inches.1. “Operating Trains” Front board is off but in pretty good shape and can be re-assembled. Top of spine has been lost. (see photos) 651 pages. Apparently the volumes were once sold in a complete set. Covers Rules, Color Blindness, Regulations, Examinations, etc. Text, charts and graphs, questions are all readable and accessible and interesting.2. “Collection of Revenue” Another volume by Kirkman in The Science of Railways. Spine binding is loose. 470 pages. Covers such pertinent topics as Faithful Handling of Money, Station Accounts, Auditing, Fiscal Duties, Uncollected Bills, Security, etc. Interesting and practical and readable.I’ll mail both of these books, carefully wrapped, to anywhere in the USA via Media Mail for $6.95, which will provide tracking.
