SUBJECT: A beautifully composedpostcard photograph of ex-NER Holden J15Class 0-6-0 LNER No. 7564 seen here showing lots of smoke and passing WensumJunction Signal Box with a train for Weybourne. Built at the GERsStratford Works in 1912, she entered service as a Class Y14 running no. 564and was used for puck-up goods and branch passenger trains on the GER networkacross East Anglia. She was withdrawn by BR as No. 65462 off Stratford (30A)shed in September 1961 and purchased for preservation in 1963. No. 564/7564/65462 is preserved and owned by the Midland and Great NorthernJoint Railway Society. In 2002 the locomotive reached the end of a majoroverhaul and was painted in LNER (numbered 7564) and BR black (numbered 65462)liveries for the duration of its boiler ticket. It originally operated in theseliveries when classified as a J15 in LNER and BR days. Following withdrawalfrom service in 2013, the locomotive received another overhaul (completed 2015)where it was out-shopped in GER lined blue and sporting its original number of564 and representing its days when classified as a Y14. CONDITION: Very good cleanand unmarked. Always kept in an album with the slightest of wear to one corneras a consequence. PHOTOGRAPHER:Not known. PUBLISHER: Sovereign PublicationsLtd.
