1920s rare Swiss madeBurlington Watch Co. Bull Dog 16 size, 21 jewels pendant wind & lever set Railroadwatch in excellent looking and running condition. The movement wasprofessionally serviced recently, runs strong & keeps good time. The serial number on the highgrade bridge style movement is 1729550. It has 21 ruby jewels and is adjustedto temperature and six positions, has two solid gold jewel settings and 4 solidgold balance screws, a micrometric whip style regulator, a safety pinion, and shadowline damaskeening on the back plates and balance arm. (This is not a “Swiss Fake” watch).
The small set lever is nearthe 1:00 position, pulls out with your thumbnail only about 1/16 inch to setthe time with the crown.The double sunk porcelainenameled railroad dial with bold black numbers is in excellent condition withjust one tiny edge flake near the bottom (which is covered by the bezel), no cracks or hairlines. The matching blued steel hands are in fine condition. The thick glass crystalis in fine condition with two tiny edge flakes, no scratches. The original Cashier goldfilled swing-out case was made in Canada for the Burlington Watch Co. and is inexcellent condition, no dents or monograms. It has two small wear spots on oneedge, looks like marks from a chain (please see pictures). The movement swingsout easily without pulling up thecrown.The approximate measurementsare 2-1/16 inches in diameter (not including the bow & crown) x 1/2 inchthick including the crystal. The ball style crown and the heavy bow are both infine condition with very light wear.This is a rare high grade Swiss antique railroad watch that isready for your collection and use, and can make an excellent gift for someone!(My pictures have many reflections & shadows, the watch looks much betterin person).We professionally service & time ourwatches for dependability and longevity (unless sold as-is).
