Vintage original 1950s train sign from the SNCF – French National Railway (The Socit Nationale des Chemins de fer Franais).
The 1950s was a golden age of French locomotive design and technology. It was during this era that French locomotives famously broke the world train speed records. These letters were prominently displayed on either side of these trains, along with the model number which appeared at the opposite end.
Consisting of beautifully aged and weathered metal lettering with a silvery gold patina, and a profile of approximately 1.5 cm, fixed to a heavy-gauge steel back with original green paint.
