I attended an estate sale from a former huge railroad collector down in Northfield, Mn (The town where Jesse James gang attempted the famous bank robbery). This is a very scarce railroad object. This great piece is in really well preserved condition retaining all original surface finish. Operates properly. The patent dates are molded in to the iron but hard to read. I THINK the last one reads 04 (as in 1904). Has that cool copper striated finish. For its smallish size, it weighs a hefty 6 lbs 12.2oz. No cast breaks or chips. Expected light general age wear consistent with age. Measures approx. 8 1/2″ long by 6″ tall & 6″ across (at wood block). The casting reads “LATROBE” on the coupler. No screw head has been tampered with. As you can see, a little oxidation on the brass tag along with some surface dirt (I did nothing to clean this up, not worth the risk damaging it doing something improper). AWESOME RARE PIECE. ***Buyer to remain anonymous. I pack Exceptionally well ****
