James(Jim) Deneen(1930-2012)Artist, Minnesota, Minneapolis area, print titled “The Broadway Limited” framed and matted under glass, issued by the Postal Commemorative Society Set by Jim Deneen collectable railroad stamps and prints. The print has 4 railroad unused 29 cent stamps framed at the bottom. The print also has a brass plate attached to frame titled “The Broadway Limited by Jim Deneen”. Jim Deneen is a listed artist on askart.com with 18 auction records and is known for aircraft, classic cars and railroad locomotive painting. Information from Wikipedia on the Broadway train as follows:”The Broadway Limited was a passenger train operated by the Pennsylvania Railroad between New York City and Chicago. It operated from 1912 to 1995. It was the Pennsylvania’s premier train, competing directly with the New York Central Railroad’s 20th Century Limited. The Broadway Limited continued operating after the formation of Penn Central in February 1968, one of the few long-distance trains to do so. PC conveyed the train to Amtrak in 1971, who operated it until 1995. The train’s name referred not to Broadway in Manhattan, but rather to the “broad way” of PRR’s four-track right-of-way along the majority of its route.”The print is in excellent condition.Frame size 22 1/4 inches W X 18 1/4 inches H, matted under glass ready to hang.
