Here are two historic documents from The Gresley Commemorative Rail Tours, Sunday 1st July 1973.From the tour brochure:This tour was originally arranged to celebrate the return of “Green Arrow” from its ten years’ hibernation, and also the return of “Flying Scotsman” from its period of exile in the United States. In the event, the latter engine is still in Derby works and is not available, but an equally well-known Gresley Pacific, the A4 No. 4498, has been secured through the courtesy of the A4 Locomotive Society to work with the V2 today. It is expected that train 1Z77 will be hauled from Tyseley to Didcot by 4771, returning with 4498. Train 1Z78 will of course have the reciprocal workings. The Club today makes history in operating two complete specials within thirty minutes of each other over the same route. On offer here are:Tour brochure. Stapled booklet, 12 pages. Introduction | Route History | Motive Power | Notes on the Days Steam Power | Photographic section | Route Map | Schedule | General Information.
