You are bidding on a custom made Nathan Airchime M horn tuning tool. Unlike so many other homemade tools made out there, this one is made to be used as a socket on a 3/8 drive ratchet. Now you can get at that cap no matter what angle those drive holes are at. Made out of a steel block with hardened steel 3/8″ dowel pins that fit perfectly into the lug holes on the back cap of M horns. If for some reason your drive pin holes are damaged, or were not cast with the correct center distance apart, this tool can engage the actual lug the holes are in (see photos 3 and 4) and still be effective at removing/installing the cap. The rounded pins will not leave a nasty bite mark like a monkey or pipe wrench will (yes, I’ve seen people use a pipe wrench and it makes me cringe. This tool is upgraded slightly from my previous tools, and the pins protrude a little more than the last ones and can engage the lug better than before. Also included is a 6 page copy of a Nathan M horn maintenance instruction from a General Electric locomotive service manual. There are details on how to service and tune/voice the horn.
