A rare ‘Festiniog Railway Society’ poster asking people to get involved and to send a pound or ten shillings to help the cause. The poster is beautifully designed and gives the name and address of Alan Garraway, his wife or perhaps his son who would have been treasurer or organiser perhaps. This dates the poster to probably the late 1960s but possibly earlier, Garraway was in charge of the project from 1954.
In good condition, the poster measures 21 inches across by just over 34 inches in height, on thin paper and I think, screen printed. This is an original poster and not a reproduction or re-print. The item does have some dog-eared corners, slight creases where it was once folded and slight fade and foxing but good overall and possibly one of only a few surviving.
Will be sent out on the same day as sale, in a decent wide poster tube using a ‘signed for’ delivery option to ensure its safe arrival.
