Im delighted to be able to offer this fantastic set of three lovely condition books by Jeff Viner, entitled RAILWAY WALKS.
At the time the books were published, Jeff Viner was Chairman of Railway Ramblers and had explored hundreds of miles of abandoned railway track throughout the UK. His expertise in this subject matter is second to none.
The three books are all hardbacks, each measuring 24 by 16 cm. with their original dust jackets. (Just to show just how good each book is; Ive taken photos of the books with and without their dust jackets.) The only mark is on the GWR /SR book, with just a tiny bit of cornering bottom right on the cover.
The first book, green in colour, covers LNER, and has 169 pages. The second book, cream in colour, is all about LMS walks, and contains 178 pages, and the blue GWR/SR book has 164 pages.
Each book contains ten walks, and I hope the photographs of the contents pages clearly show these. If not, please get in touch if there are specific walks you are interested in, and Ill check them out.
The detailed descriptions of each walk includes OS grid references, maps and illustrations, and comprehensive transport and refreshment information which are available back in 1990!
Each chapter is prefaced with a full historical description of the line, and a resume of its regeneration after closure of the lines.
These books really have been cherished for over 28 years, and its very rare an original set of three available to purchase.
The books were published in England by Alan Sutton Publishing, of Stroud, Gloucestershire, and were beautifully printed, with numerous black and white photographs, plans and maps, by WBC Limited of Bridgend.
2nd class UK postage is 2.95, and thats the exact cost of the postage stamps. The books will be very carefully packaged at no cost to you.
Thats it then-a wonderful, rare full set of three, in superb condition. Remember, if you win, you will get the entire set of books!
Thank you very much for looking, and Good Luck if you decide to bid!
