The line was originally constructed to serve the collieries and brickworks in the area and had a long lifespan of 105 years with the last working, Shotton (High Level) to Connah’s Quay docks in 1967. The line had various later owners including the ‘Wrexham Mold & Connah’s Quay Railways’, then into the ‘Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway’ which then became the ‘Great Central Railway’, later to become part of the ‘LNER’ and finally into British Railways ownership. 184 pages, over 200 photographs and numerous maps. The previous book on offer, from Oakwood Press, also has excellent coverage of the ‘Buckley Railway’. Picture two shows the contents of the book.Coming Soon.
