Antique Herb Choppers, Lot of 4, Primitive Forged Iron And Steel, Farmhouse FindThis offering is for a group lot of 3 antique wrought iron and steel food choppers. All are single curved blade choppers, all with their original wooden handles. The choppers are constructed of a hand forged steel or wrought iron metal blade. These cutting chopping tools are perfect for your country kitchen decor to hang from a beam or display in a wooden bowl.
The choppers have been selected from my collection from over the past 40 years of collecting and I have finally decided to move them on to someone else as a ready made collection.
The choppers are in very good used condition with the blades having some rust in spots, and with oxidation marks, but still has a fairly sharp edge. I have not cleaned these chopper, as found years ago from many country farmhouse auctions.
This classic kitchen chopper tools measures Top to bottom:
Middle left chopper measures 7″ in length across the blade and utensil’s height is 4-3/4″. I have pictured the small damage where the blade enters the wood. A sliver piece of wood is missing. Blade is tight.Middle right chopper measures 7-1/4″ in length across the blade and utensil’s height is 5-1/2″. Blade is tight.The bottom chopper measures 6-1/4″ in length across the blades and the height is 6-1/2″. Blade is tight. Condition of choppers are consistent with its age and decades of use. I would say in very good condition. Dark patina of the wood that comes with age. Some chips in wood and blades have scattered rust.These early choppers can be displayed in your period home and enjoyed for years to come!!
