I am offering for sale my extremely rare LMS Railway staff magazineofficial Bound Volume for 1929Surviving pre-Grouping staff magazines from the big four, are now uncommon, but official complete year editions with index, are even more difficult to find, and this after many years of searching, is the first time I have ever come across any volumes. This the edition containing the magazine content for the year of 1929, which is designated as volume VI, is in super condition. With a leather spine and dark blue cloth. Just very minor handling evidence to the top at the outside of the spine, where it has been withdrawn and replaced upon a book shelf.It contains both LMS technical information and news, and of course staff related matters by region, such as retirements etc. Being that they employed 235,000 staff, there was a lot going on, so a magazine was the only way to keep them up to date with all the Company news. These volumes I know are very much used as source data in genealogy searches.Was this for general sale to the staff each year, or maybe only issued to the local Depots as general reference ? I believe the latter, but would welcome your views and contribution.
