ANTIQUE NYCRR NEW YORK CENTRAL RAILROAD TRAIN STEP CONDUCTORS STOOL WOOD RARE.
Original antique railroad step stool. The gentlemen I bought it from years ago said his great grandfather worked for NYCRR over 100 years ago, the stool is definitely from that period, the braces on the inside are quartered logs, which matches the one from c1900 in our local museum. Was used and used very much, the front lip was lost long ago but it continued service past that and remains remarkably sturdy to this day. I believe the top tread material is also original as it also matched the tread on the museums step stool. These were painted over and over through the years and this is no exception. Very interesting piece of New York railroad history, and youll be hard pressed to find an older stool available elsewhere! Thanks for looking
