B&R No. 46 Dvd: Steam Routes West – The Western Way 
Journey to West Country via Great Western Railway. 
Mainly of branch lines + secondary services, connecting with main line from Paddington, Reading, Gloucester, Bristol + Tiverton 1963. 
Western Way journey from Paddington to Saltash not necessarily by most direct route. 
Gloucester via Reading, Chalfont auto service along Golden Valley. 
Va Bristol Temple Meads to Tiverton Junction, in 1963 a railtour headed by 60022 Mallard allowed participants a trip from Exeter via Cadleigh behind two 45xx prairie tanks to Jct, before visiting Hemyock branch. 
Teign Valley route between Exeter + Newton Abbot via Christow and its branch to Mortonhampstead via Bovey just before it closed to passengers. 
Worked by 14xx auto tanks + this theme continues to Teign Valley line from Newton Abbot to Exeter via Heathfield, filmed in 1958. 
Moretonhampstead branch also in 1958, Titfield Thunderbolt stuff this, racing local bus! 
A branch to survive into preservation was Ashburton line from Totnes in 1958, again before its closure to passengers. 
Before Dart Valley or South Devon Railways came into existence, stock was stored + steamed at Totnes Quay inc. 6998, 1363 + 1466. 
Banking on Rattery to Plymouth visiting Laira Shed, followed by last Castles to city in 1964. 
Auto train across Saltash Bridge + visit station. 
Steam over Royal Albert Bridge at Saltash to see traffic into Cornwall when Cornish Riviera Express was still steam hauled, Castle, County + Grange classes. 
Paddington with Burton Agnes Hall, City of Truro + last County No 1011, + Castle + diesel hydraulics at Iver. 
No 7025 Sudeley Castle arrives under Brunel’s roof just how it was in the days of steam. 
25 classes of steam, most ex-GWR + true GWR branch line atmosphere are well portrayed.
