LOCATION: CheadleNorth, CheshireDATE:c. 1966SUBJECT: Headingwest with its train of coal empties is an unidentified ex-LMS Stanier Black5 Class 4-6-0 seen herepassing under the Manchester Road bridge with the station buildings justvisible beyond. Thestation was located 0.5 miles north of Cheadle at the point where theManchester Road passes over the line on a bridge. The station, which was closedby BR on 30th November 1964, is situated on the west side of thebridge, with the main buildings being on the south side of the line – thesestill survive in non-railway use it is now a free house called “TheCheshire Line Tavern”. The line through the station (now reduced to singletrack) remains open for goods traffic. CONDITION: Excellent clean save for identification details hand written to reverse (see scan).Always kept in an album.PHOTOGRAPHER:Unknown. TYPE:Unbordered approx.
