– Signal Instruction No14 SWD: “Bringing into use new Panel Signal Box at Eastleigh, also alterations to Permanent Way, Introduction of Colour Light Signals and Track Circuit Block Working throughout between Winchester City and St Denys on all lines and abolition of Shawford Junction, Allbrook, Eastleigh East, Eastleigh West, Eastleigh South, Stoneham and Swayling Signal Boxes together with conversion of St Cross Signal Box to a Gate Box, – on Sunday 6th November, 1966.
