original, un-framed, used British Railways carriage print
THE CASTLE, INVERNESS
water colour print by F Donald Blake R.I. from the BR Scottish Region series of 1955
quite a nice print, coded BR. 35150 would of adorned a 1st class compartment by the luggage rack or maybe a waiting room. was originally framed but that came my way broken and falling apart, managed to rescue the subject but will look better framed
has been rolled, has a small 1cm tear on the border only, a bit of mottling which proves its age
size – approx 63cm x 25cm
shows a sunny view of Inverness castle, suspension bridge, park trees etc
a quick check on previous sales of this carriage print sees them go for 65 – 90 over the last 12 years but i shall give it a cheap start as we all like a bargain
note – pic in the description makes it look rippled but in reality its not that bad at all, will be posted in a tube or box to keep it uncreased
