Here are two lots of ‘Daily Notices for employees at the two biggest Scottish stations.
Firstly is the “Station Orders” for Easter Monday, April 12th 1982, which details the timetable for Glasgow Central, with details on extra / relief trains, headcodes, platforms, calling points, incoming workings and next workings etc. DMU and loco hauled stock diagram numbers are also quoted. Such workings include a 5Z34 ecs to Stockport formed off the incoming 1Z09 relief from Crewe.
Note that this was probably the Chargeman’s for Platform 5/6 copy, as there are a number of platforms numbers ringed which are platforms 5 and 6. Otherwise, no other writing.
About 15 pages, but please note that this copy has 2 pages missing – not because they have been torn out, but because they were not printed correctly (ie not printed both sides as the other pages are) when the Chargeman was given this copy. So he would have been as confused as I am today reading it!
In addition is a “Special Working at Waverley” 4 page document which for the Saturday in particular lists a lot of special trains terminating at Waverley. Shows train details, platforms, where the ecs is destined and some of the loco numbers penned in by a very young me back in the day. I was lucky to have 40147 in from Carstairs (but it didn’t go back). Dated August 30th 1979 for the 7 day period commencing August 31st 1979.
Original and vintage – but slightly faded with creases on the corners etc.
