LOCATION: Bluebell Railway, SussexDATE: 1995SUBJECT: A fine close-up photograph with lots of detail to see of ‘BR Ivatt ‘2MT’ Class 2-6-0 No. 46443′ – resplendent in early BR lined livery at the Branch Line Weekend at the Bluebell Railway. Built at Crewe Works in 1950, so is technically a BRlocomotive, albeit built to Ivatt’s design for the the LMS. These 2-6-0 Mogulswere affectionately known to their crews as Mickey Mouses. Withdrawn from service by BR in March 1967 off Newton Heath (9D) shed in Manchester, shewas taken immediately to the Severn Valley Railway and which has become her longtime operational home. At the time of these snaps,No. 46443 was on the middle leg of a tour of the south-east’s preserved lines,also visiting the Lavender Line and the K&ESR. CONDITION: Excellent. Clean & unmarked.
