PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THE AGE OF THIS ITEM AND CONDITION WILL GENERALLY REFLECT THAT .This item is a hard back book ” BRADSHAW’S RAILWAY COMPANION ” . Measures just 4 ” x 3 ” at an original cost of one shilling . It dates to 1840 so a very early guide indeed . Contents include Time Tables of all Trains – Fares – Hackney Coach Fares – Table showing the Travelling Rate per Hour – Name of all the Railways in England plus Scotland and much more . There are also numerous Maps , a total of 22 in page , 2 Fold Out plus a Fold Out Gradient Profile . Of note are the Fold Out Map of England & Wales and the Fold Out Gradient Profile these TWO are on very fine almost tissue paper and they have survived ( generally these are missing – very rarely do you find both attached )Interestingly inside the front cover are annotations from previous owners dating back to 1840 ( see scan )There was one of these recently on eBay for 200 !!!!! a tad overpriced me thinks .This is an ORIGINAL 1840 Edition and NOT a Reprint .Condition…….covers are slightly grubby……title page is starting to pull away from book………has interior browning and foxing…….but it is 179 Years Old !!!!!!!FULL REFUND IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH MY DESCRIPTION WHEN RECEIVED . ……………NOW THE BORING BITS………….. I have been collecting Railwayana and Transport related collectables along with Topography for over 30 years and now is the time to whittle it all down .
