The Railway Travel & Correspondence Society (RCTS) produced a detailed history of all 12 classes of Robert Riddles Standard Steam Locomotives in five volumes. This is volume five and covers the end of the era of steam traction. In this volume every photo is in colour unlike the previous books.Thankfully there are no pictures of scrap yards. Much detailed history is given in earlier volumes so this concentrates on other records of repairs and mileage etc. A definitive work that will not be surpassed.
