A First Day Cover issued by Cotswold Covers to celebrate the first British Rail High Speed Passenger Service on 5th May, 1975.  This was operated by the Prototype HST Set 252001, an image of which is shown on the front of the cover.

The cover itself is certified as having actually been carried on board the HST for the first passenger service between Bristol Parkway and London Paddington.  In 2006 it was further embellished with a stamp to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the first introduction of HST services on 4th October, 1976 between London Paddington and Bristol and South Wales.   The stamp shows Bristol and the date 4.10.06.

It is number 066 of a limited edition of 100.

The item is in very good condition having been kept in an album in a smoke free atmosphere since being bought new.
