Framed pictureThe Flying Scotchmanby Ellis Silas, c1920A Great Northern Railway Atlantic 4-4-2 class locomotive is shown hauling The Flying Scotchman.This was the colloquial name for the 10 o’clock service which ran from Kings Cross London to Edinburgh Waverley station.This train later became more famously known as “The Flying Scotsman”.This shows the age of this picture which was produced just after World War One.This super picture is from the remains of a childrens book from the early 1920s. Framed in a 25 x 20 cm, (10 x 8 inch) size clipframe. The picture offered does NOT have the “SAMPLE” watermark!!
