Geoges or Gedges Draw Bar Railway Coupling and Flange Gauge Set from 1923 LNER/LMS Big 4 era. On acquiring these in the 1970’s I was told they were made as part of the chaps apprenticeship. I was told that they were used for measuring the safe min/max thickness/opening of the wagon coupling link and the wheel flanges of wagons by the retired railway man who I know worked for LNER. The flange thickness Gauge has ’12-45′ stamped on it so unsure if this a measurement or a date. The other item is stamped ‘Type Profile SD 12 Ton Wag DG 10266 1923’. Condition is Used with some surface rust which may polish out. See photos for you own assumption of condition. The original bag is also provided but is a bit manky. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Letter.
