A 20cm dining fork manufactured in around 1909 by Walker and Hall of Sheffield for the Great Central Railway steamship “SS Accrington”. This passenger and cargo ship was launched in 1910 as part of an order for four vessels from Earles Shipbuilding of Hull, and continued in service until 1958. It is in good original condition – minor marks and scratches on faces and tines from use if caught in the light, no dents or major scratches. There are usual rub marks on plating on base of fork from resting on table tops.The fork was purchased in a combined lot at a recent specialist railwayana auction, and other than to lightly clean and assess its condition, I have neither added to nor taken anything from this item it is in lovely vintage condition and will I’m sure display beautifully. Unfortunately this is not my area of collecting hence offering it for sale. The free postage quoted is for UK buyers only and includes insurance cover for your item against loss/damage up to the value of 20. Unless extra insurance cover is requested to cover more expensive items this is all that would be refunded should your item go missing or is damaged. I always get proof of postage and I will aim to get your parcel off to you within 1 working day of payment.
