This is an original fold-out guide (size approx 6″ x 8″ folded, opening out to 17″ x 24″) produced by the Sheffield City Museums in 1974 for the Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet at Beauchief; there’s a brief historical background, a site plan, and an illustrated step-by-step guide describing the forging process and the production of scythes.
It’s in good pre-owned condition with minor signs of handling and slight creasing on the cover; it’s unmarked and undamaged, with no wear or tears at the folds and corners, and will be posted in a card-backed envelope for added protection.
