Far Ings Tileries, in 1995 is now the last surviving railway of its kind in Britian. ‘Ivor’ the MR is in use between the clay pit, and the mill. A peat works at Bolton Fell in the north also operates Motor Rails.
There are several railways associated with coal mining included. A couple of small drift mines in the north of England, and the training centre at Bentley Colliery. The two drifts at Gascione Wood Colliery still require the use of a small battery loco in the yard.
A small Lister loco is operated at Biwater Pipes on what must be one of the shortest loco worked lines.
Swinefleet Works, now owned by Levingtons uses a Schoma loco on their 3ft gauge railway for the collection of peat.
