James(Jim) Deneen(1930-2012)Artist, Minnesota, Minneapolis area, print titled “The Alton Limited” framed and matted under glass, issued by the Postal Commemorative Society Set by Jim Deneen collectable railroad stamps and prints. The print has 3 railroad unused 3 cent stamps framed at the bottom. The print also has a brass plate attached to frame titled “The Alton Limited by Jim Deneen”. Jim Deneen is a listed artist on askart.com with 18 auction records and is known for aircraft, classic cars and railroad locomotive painting. Information from Wikipedia on the Alton Limited train as follows:”The Alton Limited was the Chicago & Alton Railway’s flagship service between Chicago, Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri. It was introduced in 1899, re-equipped in 1905 and again in 1924. The name and service was ultimately discontinued in late 1971.”
The print is in excellent condition.Frame size 22 1/4 inches W X 18 1/4 inches H, matted under glass ready to hang.
