WAYNE AND CHICAGO RAILWAY COMPANY.  THE DIVISONAL MAIN LINE BEGAN AT MILE POST JUST WEST OF ‘US” INTERLOCKING AND BLOCK STATION TO M .P. 187.1    THERE WAS ONLY ONE IMPORTANT DIVISIONAL BRANCH LINE — THE BAYARD CUT-OFF AND RIVER BRANCH, WHICH EXTENDED ABOUT 68.7 MILES FROM ROCHERSTER,PA. VIA EAST LIVERPOOL AND WELLSVILLE TO YELLOW CREEK, OHIO., THEN TO BAYARD AND FAIRHOPE,OHIO.  WHERE IT REJOINED THE MAIN LINE.  A MAP OF THE DIVSION, SIXTY THREE PHOTOS, AND FIVE TRACK DIAGRAMS.THE EASTERN DIVISION  ASSIGNMENT ROSTER OF STEAM LOCOMOTIVES.  1928-1955, TWOPAGES.THE FRIDAY THIRTEENTH DISASTER:  M.P. 164 DECEMBER 13, 1946.  A SPECTACULAR THREE TRAIN WRECK OCCURRED AT 2:25 A,M., ON THE BITTERLY COLD MORNING OF FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13, 146, AT COULTER, OHIO.  THE STORY OF THIS WRECK AND ITS AFERNATH REVEALS BOTH THE EVERYDAY DETAILS AND THE EXCTRADUNARY HAZARDS OF STEAM RAILROADING, AND PROVIDED AN INSIGHT INTO THE RESOURCES THE PPR COULD DEVOTE TO THE CLEANUP.   THE THREE TRAINS INVOLVED WERE EASTBOUND FREIGHT ST-2, WHICH CONSISTED OF Q2 6191 AND 78 CARS, EASTBOUND FREIGHT ADVANCED ED-4 WHICH CONSISTED OF N2sa 8263 AND 50 CARS AND WESTBOUND PASSENGER TRAIN 63, THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE WITH K4s LOCOMOTIVES 3848 AND 3807,FIFTEEN PSSENGERS, MOSTLY SERVICEMEN 18 AND 19 YEARS OLD WERE KILLED.   ELEVEN PHOTOS, MAPS OF THE WRECK, THE HUMP TRIMMER.  THE COAL BUSINESS AT SANDUSKY WAS SOHEAVY AD MANPOWER SO SCARCE THAT INSTEAD OF THE USUAL THREE SHIFTS IN THE YARD, THE MANAGEMENT AND THE VARIOUS OPERATING UNIONS HAD AGRRED TO TWO OPERATING SHIFTS OF TWELVE HOURS DURATION.  THE MEN WHO MANNED THE TWELVE HOUR SHIFTS WOULD BE PAID FOR WORKING SIXTEEN HOURS UNDER THE OUT-OFCYCLE  AGREEMENTS.  WHILE THE HOURS WERE LONG THIS DID MAKE AN ATTRACTIVE JOB, PAYWISE.   PHOTO.ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO ON THE PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD  1884.     THE PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD COMPANY, KNOWN AS THE PENNSYLVANIA SCHUYKILL VALLEY RAILROAD COMPANY, COMPLETED THE PENNSYLVANIA LINE FROM HESTONVILLE, 52ND STREET PHILADELPHIA TO READING, PA..  THIS BRACH WAS OPENED IN SEVERA LSTAGES, FROM HESTONVILLE TO BALA, PA ON APRIL 1, 1884, FROM THERE TO MANAYUNK ON MAY 12, 1884, AN ADDITIONAL 9.6 MILES TO NORRISDTOWN, PA. ON JUNE 23, 1884 FROM NORRISTOWN TO POTTSTOWN, PA., A DISTANCE OF 22.7 MILES ON SEPTEMNBER 22, 1884 AND THE REMAINING 18.1 MILES TO READING ON NOVEMBERR 24, 1884.   FIVE PHOTOS. HIGH BID PAYS $3.65 S&H FIRST CLASS MAIL.  U.
