Published 1987 by the Railway Development Society, an 80-page booklet guide to the railways around Lancashire and Cumbria. The routes covered include the West Coast Mainline from Preston to Carlisle, the Furness Railway, lines to Blackpool and Manchester and the Settle & Carlisle.
The book includes a guide to each of the routes with a description of the journey by rail and notable landmarks on the journey. There are indepth guides to some of the towns and places of interest to stop off along the way.
Illustrated with a nice selection of black and white photographs.
