Slovakia Railways – ZSR
With distinctive double-dome and connecting steam pipe, two-cylinder 2-6-2 No. 354.7152 (with 4-8-4T No. 464.102) at Leopoldov – 20th August 1998. The ex-Austrian (kkStB type 429) locomotives inherited by the CSD had been built in a number of versions between 1909 and 1917 – with the compounds being converted to simples over a period of time. Its Austrian-style double smokebox doors had been replaced with a circular type.
One of a number of images obtained during a tour of the former Czechoslovakian and Jugoslavian railway systems – together with Hungary and Roumania – during August 1998. Most of the locomotives used and photographed were working exhibits from various museum collections in the region and therefore presented in “super-shine” condition. The locomotives crossed international borders as required and some of them had been relocated far from their birthplace and original sphere of operation.  Basil Roberts  original slide  [98017H]Additional Information Prorail UK is pleased to offer this original, mounted, medium-format colour transparency (a positive 6x7cm 120/220 film “slide”) – surplus to our extensive transport archives – by the late Basil Roberts. ————————ooOoo———————— Spanning the pre-digital-photography era 1992-2003, he covered a wide range of railway subjects, at a time when locations were not over-populated with competing cameramen. Preservation lines (Heritage Railways) were covered in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, whilst some industrial and mainline steam was still to found wider afield. A list of some of the countries and railway undertakings to appear in this series can be found below. As we hold full legal title to this material, copyright can be made available to successful purchasers.  Locations / Subjects include :
Belarus (BZ), Bosnia-Herzogovena (BHZ), China, Cuba, Czech Republic (CD), Denmark (DSB), Finland, France (CFV, SNCF), Germany (DB, MBM, RKB), Hungary (LAEV, MAV), Italy (FAL, FC, FCE, FS), Jugoslavia (JZ), Poland (PKP), Romania (CFR), Russia (RZD), Slovakia (CHZ, ZSR), Slovenia (SZ), Spain (RENFE), Sri Lanka (SLR), Sweden (SJ, TGOJ), Ukraine (UZ) plus United Kingdom (Bala Lake, BR, East Lancs, Gloucestershire-Warwickshire, Great Central, Isle of Man, Keighley & Worth Valley, Llangollen, MOD Chilworth, North Norfolk, North Yorkshire Moors, Severn Valley Railway).
N.B. Any watermarks shown (not on original) have been applied to protect the purchaser. ————————ooOoo———————— PLEASE NOTE : Scanning has been done simply to provide an acceptable representation of the material on offer. Any serious faults and blemishes should have been observed and a suitable comment made if the subject matter was deemed to be worth offering. In the case of genuine oversight, we will be prepared to reimburse purchasers (or offer a suitable replacement). Our CollectionFrom a large collection of fine transport material accumulated over many years that now needs to be reduced, due to space limitations. Other material will continue to be added to the Prorail UK shop on a regular basis, specially selected to enhance your collection.Look out for other selections of books, magazines, photographic images (negatives & transparencies) and prints, postcards, tickets, timetables – and general railwayana, from this extensive source.PaymentWithin the UK, payments may be made by personal cheque or postal order – or by PayPal.International bidders are always welcome, when small items will be sent by an appropriate method.PAYPAL is the preferred payment method for international bidders. HOWEVER, due to recent experience of “chargebacks”, it has been decided that the default option for overseas postage must now cover full “tracking” – such as Royal Mail’s “International Signed For” or “Airsure” services.Bidders known to us who use PayPal will be able to continue using standard services but MUST AGREE TO ACCEPT ALL RISKS involved. Other payment methods are still available within the Euro area and all existing arrangements will be honoured.Postage & PackagingPostage & Packing is not just the price of a stamp. Postcards, tickets and negatives need care in wrapping and despatch, so it is not sensible to “economize” in that area.Such items are sent in cardboard envelopes, carefully inserted and properly sealed; bulkier items may require bubble packaging. Even though we are now offering inclusive pricing – covering free or subsidized postage, no relaxation of our established standards will be allowed. Whether selling for 2 or 200, all items are afforded the same level of care and attention. To contain steadily rising costs, we will now be listing items for UK (domestic) delivery at a starting price inclusive of 2nd class postage. At our discretion, should the selling price permit – or where multiple purchases can be despatched at the same time – 1st class postage may be used. International purchasers will not be affected by these changes; the rates quoted for airmail to external destinations being based on the actual cost of postage less the inclusive UK rate (but uplifted to cover eBay charges levied on the p+p amount).HomeAbout UsShippingReturnsView FeedbackAdd to Favourites
