This video, presented by Pascal Bejui, takes you on a trip from Paris to Dijon via the classic route on a Paris to Marseille train, including a mixture of driver’s eye and aerial views of the route.
An interesting variety of passenger and freight trains can be seen along the route, including double-deck suburban trains, loco-hauled trains and TGVs, and there is also footage of shunting moves and locos being prepared for service at Paris-Charolais and Laroche-Migennes depots. After arrival at Dijon there is some nighttime footage of a number of overnight trains including the Paris-Barcelona Talgo train.
Enclosed with the cassette is a 20-page booklet outlining the history of the route and containing a route map and track diagrams.
The picture and sound quality is still pretty good in view of the age of this cassette, although the accompanying booklet has got bent at the edges through having been stored in the cassette case but is otherwise still in good condition.
The commentary and information booklet are in French, but non-French speakers with an interest in French railways may still find the footage interesting.
