DESCRIPTION: A museum qualityfacsimile postcard of a vintage art rail travel advertising poster entitled LONDONBY LMS St. Pauls Cathedral encouraging leisure travellers touse the LMS for tourist travel into London. .
TYPE: A reprint colour advertising vintage rail travel postcardpublished by the National Rail Museum. ARTIST: Norman Wilkinson, P.R.I. (1878 1971) wasa British artist and primarily a marine painter. Normans earlier work is mostnoted as a marine painter and as the designer of WW1 wartime camouflage forships known as dazzle painting. His artist success led to commissions fromrailway companies, both for private companies pre the Grouping and also forBritish Railways following Nationalisation. One of his paintings, which hung inthe Smoking Room of the Titanic, sadly went down with the ship. CONDITION: Excellent clean and unmarked. Good sharpcorners and no bumps to edges. POSTAL DETAILS: Unposted & unwritten. SIZE: Approx. (6.25 x 4.75).
