“Locomotive 346: Rebirth for the 21st Century” is Dirk Ramsey’s and George Lawrence’s history of this 2-8-0 narrow gauge engine that is the centerpiece of the Colorado Railroad Museum at Golden, Colorado.  They begin in 1881 with the construction of #406 (originally) and follow it through the years of service on the Denver & Rio Grande (Western) and the Montezuma Lumber Co.  Bob Richardson bought it in 1950, moved it to his Narrow Gauge Museum in Alamosa and then to Golden in 1958.  It has been lovingly restored and operates frequently on the Museum’s track loop.  With many photographs, some very old, diagrams and informative text and captions, the story is told.  This 48-page quarto-size softcover was published in 2007 by the Colorado Railroad Museum as a revision of a 1981 first edition.  This copy is brand-new with no damages of any kind – no jammed corners, no markings and no dog-eared pages. The photos are of one of these very books.  This book will be packed and shipped in our bulletproof manner. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad for their restoration and maintenance projects.
