This is a collection of railway documents found in the drawer of a desk, in Retford, Notts. about 30 years ago.
There are 2 identical maps of part of the Chesterfield railway system, scale 1/2500, in excellent condition, printed on linen. They are not dated but say ‘Borough of Chesterfield, County of Derby.’
There are 2 documents dated 1909, Midland railway, which are requests for scale advances for weekly paid staff. These documents are on flimsy paper and are quite fragile.
There are 8 documents which refer to LNER, LMS and LNE railways, and are typed documents to do with fire insurance and fire safety, and organisation for dealing with fires. These are typed and have age spots on the paper.
If anyone needs more info on the documents, just ask.
