An absolutely untouched, mint condition, 1974 BR publicity brochure extolling the virtue of the newly revamped, updated and relaunched first generation DMU’s.
As we of course came to know, they would be with us far beyond their initially intended lifespan that this revamp was to extend, some not being withdrawn until well into the 21st century.
This brochure shows the process from old to new, why they were doing this and with a cut away line drawing of the refurbished car.
This item came from a collection that was gathered in the 70’s and 80’s by a member of the BR publicity staff based in Glasgow and so its perfect condition suggests that it was in fact never issued.
