Framed pictureThe Newcastle Flyerby Edgar Hodges, 1969The text below the picture reads:-The C 38 was the first Pacific type express on the New South Wales Railways of Australia. Here we see one of these terrific engines hauling the “Newcastle Flyer” between Gosford and Newcastle. Australian rails have known no finer locomotive than this high pressure, 201 ton machine which has the ability to tame gradients of up to 1 in 31, and to speed along at a sustained 70 m.p.h.This lovely picture is from the remains of a childrens book. Framed in an A4 size (11.7 x 8.3 inch, 297 x 210 mm) clipframe. The picture offered does NOT have the “SAMPLE” watermark!!
