This new series brings to the screen the railway scene around London at a time of great change. Filmed in the early nineties when the red, white and blue colours of Network SouthEast predominated, the railway is captured prior to privatisation as seen through the driver’s cab window. Each journey is self contained and includes an informative commentary on the locations being passed. Stations, junctions and control points included. So sit back and join the driver in the cab for a unique view of London’s fascinating rail network. Volume One – Reading to Paddington The journey starts at Reading and follows Brunel’s famous Great Western route into the capital, through Sonning Cutting, Twyford and Maidenhead. We change at Slough to depart from the bay platform for Paddington. Onwards through Southall through West Ealing junction etc. and to our final destination of the magnificent Paddington Station in the days before the Heathrow electrification.
