**Rare Original Architects Plan 1879** MILDMAY PARK STATION (North London Railway).
On offer is an extremely rare architects hand-coloured plan of the Mildmay Park Station layout which was originally housed on the wall in the Engineers Office in 1879. It has the original date on the Engineers stamp 29th May 1879 – see image. Its been coloured although on the front side the colour is quite faded. The colour can be best seen on the reverse side – see image. It was obviously a wall hanging plan as its size is approx 6ft 3″ in length and 21″ in depth. Although complete it could do with some conservation work to preserve it better and also make it look nicer as can be seen from the images. Obviously its probably the only surviving plan of Mildmay Park Station prior to the station being opened the following year in 1880
Mildmay Park railway station is a former railway station on the North London Line between Canonbury and Dalston Kingsland stations. The station was on Mildmay Park between Newington Green and Balls Pond Road.The North London Railway from Dalston Junction to Highbury & Islington was opened on 26 September 1850 although the station was not opened until 1 January 1880. It was closed by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway on 1 October 1934. The ticket office was on brick columns over the eastbound track and was demolished in 1987. Some remnants of the platforms remain
