Take the train to yesterday with BlurryRobot!  This is an unused parlor-car ticket carried by passenger-train conductors on the New Haven Railroad, and sold to coach passengers who wished to upgrade to the very comfy and living-room like accommodations of the parlor car.  (Far too democratic we were then, to call it “first class”!  But the regular coach seats were roomier than the first class seats on the planes!)

The era of this ticket is difficult to determine.  It’s got the signature of Charles A. Goodwin, passenger traffic manager on the New Haven.  But he worked for the New Haven for 40 years, so we’re splitting the difference…and he was a vice president late in his career, later to serve in much the same capacity on Penn Central, but the ticket seems to have no  mention of this vice-presidency.  1940s-1950s seems like a reasonable timeframe.
