Here is a rare circa 19thc turn of the century PETER GRAY & SONS MAKERS BOSTON NYNH&HRR (New York New Have & Hartford Railroad hand held heavy gauge metal kerosene torch lamp / oil can. has makers badge on bottom under handle, and NYNH&HRR on front. this antique can measures approximately 13 1/2″ from handle end to tip of spout. can stands 5 7/8″ to top of threaded cap. bottom base rim measures 4 3/8″ across. handle is 6″ long x 1 1/8″ wide or thick. spout is a welded on 2 part assembly and juts 5″ off can side and 5 7/8″ up. this antique railroad kerosene torch / oil can has normal age related wear from years of usage including some very small dings and light denting in spots, base rim has a small dent, has all natural aged patina and is copper colored with some scratches and brush marks. the heavy iron threaded top cap is still assembled to a triangular metal wire and chain link. there is some light oxidation / rust on inside of cap threads. this can still has it’s original thick wick stuck inside the spout. there is a fair amount of solder that has been applied to some of the seams but not all. sold as is as found. please view all pics.
